Community Encounters & Dual Relationships Policy

For Kaci Smith, LMFT

Because I provide therapy services within the same community where I host glam cocktail parties for women and networking mixers for female entrepreneurs through She Is Loved, it is possible we may encounter one another outside of group if you live in or around Modesto. To protect your confidentiality, I will not initiate contact in public settings. You are welcome to greet me if you choose, and I will follow your lead.

Clients may attend She Is Loved events as community participants; however, these gatherings are not therapy services, and personal clinical matters will not be discussed in those settings. If you encounter me or other group members at community or social events, you are encouraged to protect your own privacy and to respect the privacy of others by not disclosing your or their participation in therapy or sharing personal information discussed in group.

To maintain clear professional boundaries and avoid conflicts of interest, I do not enter into business, sponsorship, vendor, or financial partnerships with current therapy clients. If you are interested in becoming more involved with She Is Loved in these ways, we can discuss appropriate timing. If overlapping roles arise that could affect the therapeutic relationship, we may discuss whether a referral to another provider would better support your care.

These practices are consistent with professional ethical standards intended to protect client welfare, confidentiality, and the integrity of the therapeutic relationship.

I’m a licensed therapist and mom. I cultivate safe, nurturing spaces for women and mothers to grow through mutual empathy, psycho-education, and the power of connection.

I specialize in working with women who identify as progressive, feminist, and values-driven. I practice from an affirming, and anti-oppressive lens.
